I am the founder of Tails on Trails, previously Doggy Style walking, established in 2004.
I consider myself so fortunate to be able to work caring for the animals that I love.
Having gained a great understanding of dogs with my many years experience working with and walking dogs.
My own two dogs have been a part of my family over the past 12 years. They are like my children so I understand what an important part of our families our dogs and pets are.
I have looked after and loved pets all of my life. Growing up in the country I have cared for all types of animals, a variety of birds, rabbits, cats, rats, mice, possums, turtles, fish and of course dogs. I have a great rapport with all dogs and am sure your pooch will like me.
Prior to opening Tails on Trails I was doing some voluntary work with dog rescue shelters. This work inspired me to start my business as I was forfilled doing what I love. I feel very lucky that I am able to work with animals and especially dogs. Companionship you receive from a dog is rewarding and like no other. It is a great experience to love and be loved unconditionally.
I have completed study with “The Delta Society of Australia” This relates to animal trick training and some obedience training. I also obtained a good understanding of health and husbandry of dogs along with First Aid for dogs.
Ruby loves going to walk with Vic ans he loves the dogs.
Our Benji loves Vic and from the morning he wakes up on his day to go out with Vic he sits looking at the door in anticipation
Thank you Vic for making Benji days exciting, you are most trusted by us.
Vic does a great job with our Jack Russell
‘Freddy’. He had a wonderful relationship with him and I highly recommend his services.
My Staffy waits for Vik in the window. He is so loving and kind to my fur baby and she comes exhausted so I know she had had an amazing walk. Pick up and drop off service is so handy as I don’t even need to be home. Highly recommended.
The best way to judge a dog walker is how your dog gets along with him. My Cavoodle Toby loves Vic and looks forward to his walks.
Vic is reliable, a good communicator and flexible if my plans change. Highly recommended.
Our 9 year old staffy, Stella, loves going out with Vic. She races to the door when she knows he is on the way which is sign enough how much she enjoys her walks! He is reliable, trustworthy and great value. Thanks for the great service, Vic !
I can’t recommend Vic highly enough. My dog is always super excited when Vic arrives to take her out – she’ll wait by the door as he approaches. Vic takes her for a few hours and she always comes back happy and exhausted. Vic is also very flexible when last minute schedule changes are needed.
Happy dog and happy owner!
Our dog Tilly loved going for walks with Vic. He was always reliable and courteous. The pack goes on great walks to parks and beaches. Our dog always came home exhausted and slept for the entire afternoon! Sadly we moved so we had to find a new walker. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a dog walker who treats dogs to proper outdoor adventure walks.
value, they have not only provided exercise for our dog, but have helped to socialise him as well. Our dog loves his walk days, as he is out for an extra long walk (regardless of the weather). They have also always let us know if there are any issues with our dog or need to reschedule walks in a very professional manner.
Would highly recommend! We consider them an essential service!
Garth has been walking my dog Wrigley, for almost one year, five times a week.
Wrigley came to me as a 1 1/2 year old with separation and anxiety issues which were being managed, however it became clear that not only would he benefit from more exercise but also from regularly mixing with other dogs and people too. During this last year he has become a very happy and well balanced dog who is much more sociable with other dogs. He has stayed with Garth in his home for both short and long periods and happily adapts to his new but temporary environment, living happily with Garth’s dogs and with others who may also be staying.
He now loves Garth and is very happy to spend time with him.
I cannot recommend Tails on Trails highly enough.
I have know Garth as a personal friend for over 12 months.
Although I have had no professional dealings with Garth, having heard of him talk of his ambitions, business aspirations and work ethic, I have formed the firm opinion that he is conscientious in all his endeavours, completely trustworthy and always reliable and respectful toward others.
I have observed the way that Garth cares for his own pet dogs. If I decide to become a dog owner, I would not hesitate in calling upon Garth’s services and knowledge with confidence.
I strongly recommend Garth as a trustworthy, diligent individual and career for your dog or other animals
It is with good confidence that I am providing a referance of good character for Garth.
I have know Garth since April 2006, at the commencement of the Canine Good Citizens Instructors Course. This nationally accredited programme is run by the Delata Society and promotes positive reinforcement dog training and the enhancement of the human animal bond.
During my interactions with Garth I have always found him to be a dependable and conscientious individual who can be relied upon. He has demonstrated a very good command of dog handling skills and a genuine care and concern for all animals. I am particularly encouraged that Garth has taken the initiative to enroll himself in the Canine Good Citizens instructor’s course to be involved with positive reinforcement training methods as this is very important for the psychological well being of animals. Being involved in the veterinary and animal care industry, I believe it would be of benefit to have more people like Garth who is equipped with these skills that avoid the use of harsh training and control methods.
I would not hesitate to recommend Garth to have your animals under his care.
Garth has been exercising and minding our dog Oliver for several years. Throughout that time, we have found Garth to be exceptionally reliable and trustworthy. We have observed Garth with his own dogs and it is apparent that these are treated as if they are Garth’s children. It is also clear that Garth regards all dogs in his care with the same loving and protective approach. Garth has undertaken training in dog behavior and understands the importance of utilizing the natural instinct of the pack to socialize dogs. As a result of Garth’s services, our dog Oliver socializes with many dogs with greatly improved ease. After each outing Oliver appears very relaxed and he is very enthusiastic to jump in Garth’s van each time he is collected. I have recommended Garth’s services to many friends who have been equally impressed with his reliability and the manner with which he cares for our beloved pets
It is with pleasure that I provide this reference for Garth and Doggy Style Walking. Garth has been walking my dogs since 2009. Currently he walks Keoco my Japanese Spitz three times a week. Garth started walking Keoco in February 2012. He has also had Keoco in his care while I have been away on holidays. It is truly evident that Garth and Keoco have a strong bond and Keoco thoroughly enjoys her walks with Garth. He has always proven to be reliable and I can depend on Garth to take good care of Keoco. I have also recommended Garth to walk my sons family dogs, Cooper and Cabo, they are also very happy to have the dogs in Garth’s care. I always know that our dogs are in good hands when they are with Garth and have peace of mind knowing they are getting their walks
Garth has been walking our Boxer Penny for almost 2 years now and we couldn’t be happier. She started with him when she was just a pup and we can see how her spending so much time with Garth and the other dogs has helped her develop into such a happy, well-behaved and well-socialized dog. We know how much effort and care Garth puts into his time with the dogs by seeing how extremely excited she gets when she hears him coming to the door in the morning and how pooped she is when she returns! We have also left Penny in Garth’s care while we have been away and we are always at ease knowing she’s being well looked after. It’s a holiday for her too! We also want to express how impressed we are with Garth’s consistent professionalism and dependability. We are so fortunate that Penny gets to be a part of the amazing Tails on Trails pack and hope to have her with Garth for a very long time!
Garth has been walking Sampson Monday to Friday for four and a half years and when required picks him up from the groomer. Garth is completely reliable and looks after Sampson as if he were his own. After some bad experiences with other dog walkers we are very lucky to have found someone who genuinely cares about Sammy and his well-being. Sammy loves Garth and we trust him implicitly with our most treasured possession! I would recommend Garth to anyone
Garth has been walking our dog Jelanie five days a week for the past year and has a key to our backyard. He has also had Jelanie in his care when we went away. We can highly recommend Garth; we have found him to be extremely reliable and responsible. Our dog was particularly shy and resistant to going out with strangers, but clearly loves Garth as he is more excited to see Garth these days than us.
